During a recent interview with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren on the conservative right-wing channel Fox News, Meg Whitman called for her former housekeeper to be deported:

VAN SUSTEREN: […] let me get very personal, Nicky Diaz. I imagine you have mixed feelings about her. She’s in this country illegally and has signed that document falsely. Should she be deported?

WHITMAN: Well, the answer is it breaks my heart, but she should be deported because she forged documents and she lied about her immigration status. And it breaks my heart! Gloria Allred pulled off a political stunt. And you know what? On November 3rd, no one’s going to care about Nicky Diaz. But the law is the law and we live in the rule of law. It’s important.

Whitman, trying to have it both ways again with the Latino vote, later backpeddled somewhat.  Via Mercury News:

When asked about the comment during a campaign stop in Stockton on Thursday, Whitman returned to her previous stance, saying the decision is up to federal authorities.
